Looking to update its existing admissions marketing efforts, Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) teamed with Earl Studios of Amherst, NH to produce an updated and high definition admissions marketing video to be used on campus and off as a tool in its admissions process. The new admissions video required extensive planning, including shooting both on campus activities, sporting events, and student interviews over a period of 4 months. In addition, the production required an additional 2 months of editing, including several editing sessions at Earl Studios, with the production team from SNHU providing real time feedback.
"This is by far the largest and most logistically diverse video project we have worked on to date." said Earl Studios owner Jeremy Earl Mayhew. "Most videos we have produced prior to this required at most 2 days and just a couple of locations, but this video was massive in its scale, and required us to push the capabilities of the company forward in order to exceed the expectations of the client. Earl Studios has taken a huge step forward in its capabilities with this project, and we are eager to deploy these new capabilities for future clients."
Shooting on the HD DSLR format required Earl Studios to push the limits of the format, shooting both fast action sports and low light night time events. During the production, Earl Studios made the decision to switch its entire line of cameras to the Canon format, to better assist in the production. "That was a huge risk, to completely switch the line of cameras we shoot with here." said Mayhew. "We had been looking at it for some time, and at one point the decision had to be made to provide the client with the best product possible. Its like I always say, great risks produce great rewards, and this was no exception".
Now completed, the video will be run on a loop for viewing by prospective SNHU students and their family's, and helps to communicate the great resources and education provided by SNHU.
